I don't know the going rate for babysitters these days.
Back when I was the teenage babysitter, I remember parents asking what I charged. I never knew what to say.
When I was the parent needing a babysitter, I would ask the same, "How much do I owe you?" and nobody ever offered a "suggested retail price" for their paycheck at the end of the night.
But these days, I have my pricing strategy all figured out. What is the appropriate payment for babysitting? I'll take smiles, thank you very much.
Watching Kinley discover the world around her is pretty good payment, too. Who knew trees could be so fascinating?
We found out during a walk with Mommy and Grandma at Lake Shawnee Friday evening.
Hopefully, Grandma the Babysitter didn't cause Kinley any undue worry by having weather watching as part of our Saturday evening activities. In my defense, it also included tummy time. Grandma is not always a fan of tummy time because it's not Kinley's favorite activity.
We also did much more wholesome activities like reading books, talking, working on our grasping skills and singing Sunday School songs while we waited for Mommy and Daddy to get home from a wedding.
We discovered that Dolly is a photo hog and always insists on being featured in a picture or two. However, Dolly is taking a noticeable backseat to Miss Kinley these days. (It appears we are going to have to stop taking this photo sideways in the crib.)
It was a bonanza of Grandmas this weekend. Kinley got to see four Grandmas on a field trip to Manhattan.
Loving these photos Kim! I totally agree- smiles and a hug or kiss are pretty high dollar payments. Just wait until she says "Grandma!" and gives you a hug. Nothing like it anywhere!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jerri! I'm looking forward to those days, too, but I'll enjoy these for now.
DeleteShe is just adorable! Looks like you had a great time. These grandbabies are quite fun!
