Having songs on automatic mental repeat is normal for me. Thankfully, this one has both a beautiful melody line and message. And, as it has underscored my days since Monday night, I've thought about how it perfectly illustrates this coming weekend for me.

Seasons Of Love
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty five thousand moments so dear
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
in daylight,
in sunsets,
in cups of coffee,
in inches, in miles,
in laughter,
in strife
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in a life?
How about love?
How about love?
Measure in love...
Seasons of love...
seasons of love...
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty five thousand journeys to plan
Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes

How do you measure a life of a woman or a man?
In truths that she learned
or in times that she cried
in bridges he burned
or the way that she died
Let's celebrate -
remember a year in a life of friends
My Mom and me |
Remember the love...
(oh, you gotta remember the love)
Randy and his mom, Marie, March 1956 |
Remember the love...
(oh yeah, it's a gift from up above)
Remember the love...
(sing out, give out, measure your life in love)
seasons of love...
Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, to my daughter, Jill, and all the women who have played such a vital role in my life. I'm also remembering my mother-in-law, Marie, and the Grandmas in my life who'll be waiting at heaven's gates. I've been blessed beyond measure!
Enjoy the beautiful song, if you'd like!

Beautiful thoughts and fun pictures, Kim.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous Mother's Day weekend with those closest to you.
Thanks, Robyn! They are coming home this weekend, so I'm excited. Hope it works out for you to work calves.
DeleteKim,
DeleteYou will have a houseful of fun! Enjoy every moment.
J cancelled for Saturday and we are working calves on Tuesday. This mornings skies are heavy blue and the yard looks wet. I see little muddy paw prints on my kitchen floor.
Yesterday afternoon J pulled out the corn planter. We also have grass/alfalfa to seed and J is getting a little worried about meeting the seeding deadline.
So goes life. A few days of sunshine and we will get caught up quick. If there is such a thing, lol!
After thunderstorms on Mother's Day evening, we have returned to cool weather. Thankfully, we got a little rain, without the hail and tornadoes that others got. Hope all goes well on Tuesday.
DeleteAwesome pictures, words and music. Happy Mother's Day to you dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Barb! It was great to have everyone home!
