Rainbow Taxi

Uber does not serve the Stafford/Reno county line. But there's another reliable taxi service, available at a farmer's beck and call ... well, one farmer's beck and call.

Running a morning taxi service can throw a kink in your schedule. Sometimes, you leave a farm radio report half finished. You don't necessarily make your 8 AM self-imposed blog posting deadline either.

But there are some perks, too. A full rainbow in the western sky definitely qualifies.

However, trying to figure out your camera's panoramic setting while on a deadline for passenger pickup is not one of the perks. So I cheated and put a couple together when I got back. I never remember that I need a tutorial on the panoramic feature until I'm getting error messages on my camera. That's life, isn't it? 

I was only 5 minutes tardy in my pickup time, despite my brief timeout for photos. I delivered the guys to pick up the seed wheat truck and the pickup and fertilizer trailer "up north," as we call it. Since my chauffeuring duties were done and I was on my own time,  I made a few stops along the way. Even though the rainbow was gone, there was still beauty to be savored ...

... and to the east, where the sun was attempting to peak out from gloomy skies.

I wish all the clouds would have brought more than sprinkles. But they didn't.

This fence marks the border into the Quivira National Wildlife Refuge.

Both the refuge and Peace Creek are starting to look like fall.

I still made my KFRM deadline. And I posted a blog. It wasn't at 8 o'clock, but it was posted.
