Farmyard Cuties

There are some awfully cute faces on the County Line these days. But the cuteness quotient went up even higher over the weekend when Kinley and Brooke came to the farm. (And they brought their parents, too.)
They checked out the babies in the pasture, but Kinley wasn't interested in getting a closer look. She was just fine seeing the livestock from the pickup, thank you very much.
The cats were more her size. She gladly helped Grandpa feed his backyard "livestock." She and Grandpa stirred up a special treat for the felines, some milk replacer left over from calving.
Here are a few more snapshots from our family album.
If these don't make you smile, you really are having a bad day.
I "like" several professional photographers on Facebook, and some of them specialize in baby portraiture.
I guess I specialize in that, too, at least, in a manner of speaking.
The photo below is really a newborn portrait. Mama still hasn't gotten rid of the after-birth.
I may not have all the fancy props and camera equipment, but these little guys are pretty photogenic, don't you think?

Kinley and Brooke starred in their own photo shoot with Emily J Photography on Sunday morning.
The big people stood around while Emily worked to set up the next shot for the girls. Once they were in place, Jill, Eric & Randy were on smile patrol. I should have gotten a photo of those antics, but I just snapped a quick shot before I took off for choir.

After my attempts at taking photos of the girls after church yesterday (and then trying to weed through dozens of my rejects), I can't wait to see what Emily captured!

  1. How exciting for your grand-daughters to have their own photo shoot! Do we get a peek at the photos too?

Definitely some farmyard cuties in this post. Love all your little calves. And it is so nice to see some blue sky in your photos. The barn in the first photo looks very old. Does it still gets used much?

    1. I will have some photos I took of Kinley & Brooke on the blog this week. The professional photographer usually posts some on her blog, and I'll share the link. It will probably be a couple of weeks for that though.

As far as the barn goes, it is located where we live, but we don't own it. We rent the barn and corrals. We use it if we need to pull a calf. (Thankfully, that wasn't needed this year.) And we also run cows and calves into the barn if it's really cold and there's a brand new baby. It's not in the best shape anymore, but we still use it. An oldie, but a goodie!
