Tender buds on shrub and tree
Boast of spring's bright victory.

Dormant seeds beneath Earth's floor
Leap from darkness through life's door.
The world has changed its winter scene
To fertile fields with glint of green.
Blossoms burst to meet the sun -
The glad awakening has begun!
Somewhere beneath Death's winter sleep
Mortals too wake from the deep -
